Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
Rendez-Vous: Round Three. Earlier entries on Rendez-Vous: August 17 & September 16.
Wrapping up our Rendez-Vous trilogy with pork pâté (RM19++), a pure, pistachio-studded pleasure, chunky & rustic in the traditional fashion, kitchen-made & coupled with caramelised onions & a side salad.
Perhaps even more enjoyable: Salmon terrine (RM22++), mousse-soft & delicate in flavour, paired with Marie Rose sauce.
Rendez-Vous does an enticing quiche (RM18++), with different daily flavours, sometimes with pork, goat’s cheese or other possibilities, featuring a fresh-tasting feel that works well even for those of us who might not consider ourselves fans of quiche.
Other classics include a briny Sete-style fish soup served with rouille sauce garnishing (RM16++).
Mussels cooked in blue cheese (a creamy, powerful-tasting combo), nicely accompanied by crispy-hot, moreish fries.
Beef cheek, bourguignon-style (RM39++; could be thicker & richer, but that might be a matter of preference).
Satisfyingly succulent pork tenderloin (RM35++), still pink within after roasting, soaked in a cepes mushroom sauce.
Rendez-Vous offers Prince Polignac Cognac, reputedly named after the oldest of France’s noble families & now the official Cognac at the Royal Court of Denmark.
