Michter's Whiskey Making a Name for Itself in Malaysia
May 12th, 2025
Qureshi is a restaurant that’s built on a legacy – its founders belong to the family of Indian Master Chef Imtiaz Qureshi, an illustrious member of a lineage of kitchen maestros who’ve served India’s top rulers over the centuries.
The restaurant insists it makes no compromises in being an ambassador of its cuisine in Malaysia, flying in meticulously selected spices and other crucial components from India. This is a top-notch establishment, with irreproachable food & service.
Lamb lovers have lots to like here; have a field day with this minced lamb kebab, masala-mixed & tandoor-grilled (RM35++).
… & the massively meaty lamb shank, cooked with caramelised onions, ginger & turmeric (RM45++) …
… & the terrifically tender marinated lamb in saffron-scented, subtly spiced biryani rice (RM45++) …
… but save space for the piece de resistance: lamb leg prepared dum-style (RM100++). Exceptional expertise is poured into the execution, ensuring well-tuned flavours with nuanced textures.
Prefer chicken? There’s boneless chicken marinated in spices & cooked in tandoor (RM35++) …
… or if you prefer something for soaking up with Qureshi’s bread selection of mint paratha, plain naan & tandoori roti (RM25++), try the butter chicken in tomato gravy (RM35++) or better still, the simmered black lentil dal (RM30++), by far the most enjoyably creamy dal we’ve had in recent memory.
Portions are princely – three of us shared the food & were stuffed beyond measure.
To wrap up, have a simple but satisfying pistachio kulfi with carrot halwa (RM15++) …
… washed down with jaljeera (lemon-&-mint-flavoured beverage mixed with Indian spices), thandai (milk flavoured with cardamom, almonds & saffron) & mango lassi, all RM15++ each.
