Review: Spanish Cellar
October 3rd, 2024
There’s time & space for both work & play at Sudo Brew, where deadline-besieged customers can pore over their spreadsheets while a tireless team of baristas pours them all the cups of cappuccino it takes to get the job done. With library-style carrels for a semblance of privacy, plus 50 Mbps WiFi for breakneck online researching, all the power points you’ll require & absolutely no desk rental fees for now, this stripped-down cafe could be a useful location to bookmark. Note that Sudo Brew (a tech term, its founders say) currently only opens 6pm-2am but aims to be a 24-hour outlet once it hires more staff members.
No full-blown kitchen is running yet, but you can order a bittersweet invention of ristretto-splashed home-made brownies, garnished with vanilla ice cream, diced capsicums & pomegranate arils. Rumour has it that instant ramen & occasional cheesecakes may also be stashed behind the counter. The coffee selection is certain to continually change, but right now, Coffex’s Discovery medium-roast blend is one option on this street where no other speciality coffee bars have sprung up.
