Valentine’s with a view: With a week to go before Feb. 14, couples searching for a distinctive dinner destination can consider looking upward – to Signature at The Roof, which offers the lure of culinary seduction in the sky at First Avenue Bandar Utama.
Dinner is served in Signature’s spacious hall, with tall windows providing a commanding panorama of the suburban landscape. This one-night-only Valentine’s menu costs RM199 nett per person. For window seating, a champagne purchase is necessary.
As night falls, musical entertainment is also promised – Nana Lee, an Indonesian singer-songwriter & saxophonist who came to fame in Super Idol Taiwan, is slated to perform to complement the cuisine of Signature’s duo of chefs Desmond & Boone.
Couples will begin the evening with complimentary champagne cocktails, a sweet treat for berry lovers.
Indulge first in a buffet spread of soups & starters, from truffle-scented mushroom broth to beef-bacon-laced Caesar salads.
Each diner can choose one main course, options include lamb shank with roasted rosemary potatoes & sauteed herb veggies, beef wellington tinged with chicken liver & served with mushroom duxelle & potato puree, black cod with wild mushroom risotto & red bell pepper sauce, as well as roasted salmon with avocado & tomato concasse.
Desserts also come in an all-you-can-eat bounty on a buffet table – this is a small selection of what’s expected to be available.
Extra benefits for Valentine’s couples include a 20 percent discount off Veuve Clicquot champagne for the night. Alternatively, you can order some of Signature’s creative cocktails (not included in the Valentine’s package), such as the Black Mojo, which blends blackberries with gin, lemon juice, amaretto & mint.
And if you require an additional aphrodisiac, keep an eye open for a possible oyster selection. Cupid would certainly approve.
