Swathed in sultry shadows, Ekkamai celebrates traditional Thai cuisine with modern flair; the menu is confidently conceived & competently executed, while service is sterling – no less than what we’d expect of the F&B veterans behind The Social, El Meson & Estilo. Chicken & beef skewers are grilled in a Josper charcoal oven (RM24+; served with sweet sauce & massaman peanut sauce), while the spicy homok souffle is loaded with tender, lightly cooked prawns, mussels, scallops & squid (RM24+).
On Cheat Days, have your kampung eggs crispy-fried & fairly runny (RM15+) or as an oil-soaked omelette with cha-om acacia leaves (RM18+) before finishing with deep-fried dough sticks coupled with kaya (RM15+). Cocktails with a kick include the Sriracha Bloody Mary (RM38+ for a serving for two); Chilean Cab Sav clocks in at RM90 before happy hours wrap up at 9pm.
