Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
Avenue K’s newly revamped top floor still has plenty for hungry visitors to explore; some might start at Black Bull, a spacious restaurant and bar with a few fun facilities, including pool tables and a bull-themed bowling alley (!) that explains this eatery’s name.
The tapas selection includes calamari with harissa and garlic aioli sauce (RM25), a recipe that kinda sounded better than it looked and tasted. Perhaps several of the other items might fare better: there’s everything from Tex-Mex burgers with jalapeno peppers and tomato salsa to seared duck breast with red wine reduction.
The cocktails could be more potent: Amaretto Espresso Martini (amaretto, kahlua, smirnoff vodka, espresso) …
… and Toblerone (creme de cacao, frangelico, bailey’s irish).
Also now on this level at Avenue K: The latest branch of the Ayers Rock steak chain.
Plenty of meat available; unfortunately, wine isn’t served at Ayers Rock.
Still, the steak’s satisfying, a quality cut that’s flavourful and juicy, prepared competently …
… and partnered heartily with potatoes and a fresh-tasting salad.
The final stop for now: Whisky Tango Foxtrot, a whisky and cigar lounge that’s accessible through this phone-booth entrance inside Samba Brazilian Steakhouse.
And yep, it’s also a branch, this one of the original WTF at Medan Damansara.
