Australia's Most-Awarded Whisky Comes to Malaysia
September 19th, 2024
Mont Kiara’s Verve Suites shop-front is fast becoming a hub for noteworthy cafes like La Casa, which recently opened its second branch here, not too far from its other outlet in Solaris Dutamas.
It’s a significantly more spacious outpost for La Casa, comfortable & welcoming. Take a cushy seat & feel free to browse through cookbooks on the shelves; bathed in warm hues, the cafe works well for leisurely lunches & calm, carefree dinners.
This new branch delves into heartier fare, focusing on French & Italian favourites. For folks who enjoy duck confit, La Casa offers a very respectable rendition, flavourful but not too salty, served with sauteed potatoes & apple-&-orange salad (RM38). Escargots, pate & baked brie with baguette are available too.
Boeuf bourguignon has a place of a honour too – a hearty interpretation, tender with slow-braised beef & comfortingly creamy with potatoes, onions & veggies. Ideal for rainy nights, after a long day at work.
Pizzas? Plenty of varieties, but the house speciality is topped with crisp turkey bacon, mushrooms, pineapple, tomatoes, pesto sauce & mozzarella.
Pasta? Naturally – here’s one with halibut, tossed with olives & tomatoes, topped with rocket leaves & balsamic sauce (RM34).
Petit fours: Raspberry panna cotta, lemon frangipane & apricot tart. It’s worth noting that La Casa also offers catering services.
Wine is available – Aussie house-pours start at RM21 per glass. And of course, there’s coffee & tea for teetotalers.
Entry on La Casa at Solaris Dutamas (outside Publika): July 9, 2014.
