Frisky Goat is set to soon mark its first birthday – in less than a year, this has turned into one of Taman Tun Dr Ismail’s most reliable stops for weekend brunches, but it’s worth noting that Frisky Goat is a solid bet for full-fledged lunches & dinners too.

Don’t skip the salads – Frisky Goat serves royally good ones, ranging from a vegetarian-loving roasted pumpkin & portobello combo, crowned with arugula & enrobed in balsamic reduction (RM22).
To a smoked duck salad with longan & walnuts, dressed in champagne vinaigrette (RM26.50) to our personal favourite: crunchy, lightly spicy Asian salad of spring onions, coriander & chillies, tossed with watermelon & toasted almond flakes, topped with crispy-juicy fried chicken (RM18.90).
Small plates are offered, ideal for tapas-style sharing, with options like sauteed paprika tiger prawns (RM18) & patatas bravas (RM10), capably executed enough to be showcased on a Spanish restaurant’s selection.
For a filling two-course meal, start with creamy cauliflower soup (RM14) before moving on to succulent, slow-roasted chicken confit, well-partnered with sweet corn ragout, mashed potatoes & thyme chicken jus (RM27.90) or oven-braised beef rib with arugula, mashed potatoes & extra sauce on the side (RM42).
Frisky Goat indulges its playfully experimental side with monthly specials: Throughout January, customers can check out this unusual ‘Awesomeball’ (RM29), basically a giant beef meatball that’s stuffed with spaghetti & mozzarella, garnished with pesto sauce & aubergine chips. Suitable for two to share.

Frisky Goat’s got you covered: Here’s one of KL’s tastiest savoury ones so far: A waffle ‘sandwich’ that’s mightily packed with fried chicken, beef bacon, cheese & a sunny-side-up, embellished with corn salad & maple syrup (RM22). A calorie bomb, but well worth chomping down on during cheat days.
‘Pizza’ waffles are available too, heaped with beef pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms & oozy mozzarella (RM18.50). And for dessert, there’s the fruit-filled ‘Vitamin C’ waffle, laced with white chocolate chips & loaded with freshly sliced kiwi, strawberries & bananas, plus some sinful sides of vanilla ice cream, creme patisserie & chocolate ganache (RM18.50).
Frisky Goat’s dessert display always appears alluring – for this round, we succumbed to the temptation of dark chocolate & peanut butter hot pudding, paired with vanilla ice cream.
When the sun sets, forego the coffee & finish the beers instead; Frisky Goat curates continent-hopping choices, leaping from South Africa’s Savanna Dry Cider to Mexico’s Corona Extra & France’s Kronenburg 1664 Lager. Many thanks to Angeline & the Frisky Goat team for hosting this meal.
