Review: Kingyu Japanese Restaurant
December 4th, 2024
Superthai fulfils its pledge of serving ‘appethaizing cuisine’ – expect robustly hearty Thai-inspired offerings with tantalising twists.
Try the basil leaf fried minced pork (RM17), potentially our favourite rendition of this classic recipe in the Klang Valley, an ultra-guilty indulgence heaped with a secret weapon – loads of crunchy pork lard that bring on irresistible bursts of extra flavour and texture.
We’re also immediate fans of the stuffed squid, swollen with a winningly tender-savoury paste of pork and fat (RM20).
The menu is protein-packed, ranging from soft-bone chicken knuckles, rarely spotted in Thai eateries, served fresh and hot for compulsive snacking (RM18), to the crowd-pleasing crispy omelette (RM12).
But the limelight ultimately belongs to pork – the braised pork belly (RM22) and the monumentally succulent flame-grilled pork neck (RM27). Bring along a bottle of wine.
