Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
There’s a new sheriff for steaks in Sri Hartamas: Wild Wild East gallops this month into KL’s untamed frontiers of upmarket street food, bringing a maverick take on cooked-to-order beef, lamb, chicken & fish.
Australian Mayura Station full-blood Wagyu beef (marble score 7/8) is the top speciality here, most recently priced at RM26 per 100 grammes (minimum order of 200 grammes), well-prepared & paired with sides of soba & onion warashita sauce that hint at the chef’s previous stint at Nobu Kuala Lumpur. Angus rib-eyes are also available (RM18 per 100 grammes).
Wagyu steak burgers (RM27) are another WWE surprise, built for folks who want an all-meat, no-filler bite to their burgers.
Besides beef, the stall also offers an evolving selection that currently includes lamb cutlets with a Japanese-Peruvian fusion sauce (RM10), chicken sliders (RM8) & fish fillets (barramundi is a popular choice). All in all, this feels like a fun entry to the neighbourhood for night-time nibbles; thanks to Wild Wild East for having us here.
