Mohammad Chow at Damansara Perdana: Restaurant Review

This family-founded outlet has become popular for halal Malaysian Chinese dai chow-style fare, inspired by its owners’ hopes of offering everything from Marmite chicken to kung po cuttlefish & kam heong crabs for customers of every ethnicity to enjoy.

The menu is extensive, with something for everyone – our favourites among our orders were the indulgent Nestum butter soft shell crab (RM40 for the smallest serving, which is still more than sufficient to share), creamy-crispy buttermilk sauce battered sotong (RM18) & the irresistible salted egg pumpkin (RM12), all served fresh & piping-hot from the kitchen.

For fans of diversity: Hearty platters of ‘yin yong’ chicken (RM18), tofu (RM15) & kailan (RM15), each prepared in two styles.

Classic comfort food, evoking memories of happy family meals from our past, include the crowd-pleasing yam ring with sweet-sour fish fillets (RM28) & a well-executed clam fried rice (RM25). Many thanks to the Mohammad Chow team for hosting us.
