Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
Pencil in Black Ink No. 6 as a cosy stop for comfort food and caffeine, offering a calm respite from the cosmopolitan bustle.
Rice bowls are the highlight here, blanketed with beef rib-eye, onsen egg, pickled cucumber and radish (RM20), butter chicken masala with spicy cabbage (RM18) or salmon sashimi, tuna, edamame, seaweed and guacamole (RM20), for warm, solid meals.
Black Ink’s hearty, reasonably priced efforts extend to its sandwiches, layered with sunny-side-up eggs, beef bacon and American cheese on toast (RM16) or basil pesto, baby spinach, sauteed mushrooms and melted cheddar (RM16).
There’s also a touch of fun creativity in the coffee, particularly the Volcano, overflowing lava-like over the saucer (RM12).
Address: 2, Jalan Liew Weng Chee, Off Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Kuala Lumpur.
Hours: Currently open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm; Sat, 10am-6pm. Will extend hours eventually.
