Review: WIP on the Park

Cheras’ secret spot for Penang hawker fare showcases the likes of white curry noodles (RM6.80; mee and beehoon in an enjoyably sweetish, aromatic coconut milk curry, complete with cockles and pig blood curd), duck egg char kuey teow (RM10.80; OK – suitably smoky and greasy), assam laksa (RM6.80; might not hit Air Itam levels, but certainly respectable for KL) and chee cheong fun (RM5; surprisingly our fave of the bunch – tender steamed rice rolls with a textured, well-balanced mix of shrimp paste, chilli sauce, fried shallots and sesame seeds). Wash down with nutmeg juice (RM3.20) and pat poh herbal tea (RM2.20).
