Review: WIP on the Park

Eggs are marvellous, that’s for sure; Marvellous Eggs Co – which cracks open this week at Mid Valley Megamall – is hoping to eggsploit the universal popularity of eggs by serving the novelty of eggs on sticks, prepared to order in tubular pop-up cookers.
Hundreds of eggs are eggspected to be sacrificed here everyday, broken in bowls & poured into vertical heating chambers.
Each stick eventually rises on its own (the wait shouldn’t eggsceed 10 minutes), transformed into phallic omelette rolls – fresh, hot & soft – served plain or wrapped around sausages or salmon. Variants include the 63-Degree Egg (RM5), Cherry Tomato (RM6), Chicken Frankfurter or Chicken Loaf (RM7) & Smoked Norwegian Salmon or Black Pepper Norwegian Salmon (RM8).
These egg pops can be a bit bland on their own, but that’s easily remedied with Marvellous Egg Co’s creamy-flavoursome dipping sauces (one complimentary sauce per roll), including Marvellous Original 200 (mayo & spices), Marvellous Original 350 (basically the 200 with eggstra cili padi), Wasabi, Cheese, Roasted Sesame, Thai Chilli & Japanese Curry.
Ideally consumed eggstremely soon after purchase – enjoyable enough as a snack, as low-carb/high-fat comfort food.
Marvellous Egg Co had a successful trial run earlier this month at the Big Bad Wolf book sale; it seems set to attract many curious customers & onlookers too – especially children – at Mid Valley before potentially eggspanding elsewhere next year.
