328 Katong Laksa brings the recipe of its well-known Singaporean namesake to the Klang Valley, helmed by a Malaysian-Singaporean couple who reputedly have familial ties to the island republic’s East Coast Road outlet founders.
This is laksa lemak that hits the spot – rice noodles immersed in coconut milk broth (mildly sweet-spicy, moderately creamy but not cloying) with cockles, chicken, prawns, sliced fish cakes, hard-boiled eggs, laksa leaves, bean sprouts & 328’s signature sambal paste.
Best to head here on weekdays for lunch, when set meals offer stronger value for money – a bowl of 328’s aromatic laksa with otak-otak & a beverage (barley, chrysanthemum or monk fruit herbal drink) costs RM13.90 nett, 10:30am-3pm, Mondays through Fridays (except Tuesdays). At other times, a basic bowl, easily enough for one person, hovers slightly north of RM12.
