Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
This review is brought to you in part by Rococo.
As night descends over Bukit Bintang, Rococo transforms from a daytime cafe into an intimate evening eatery that exudes a soothing sense of mystique and romance, swathed in sultry shadows. The restaurant recently introduced a five-course set dinner selection that draws heavily from European influences, priced at RM180 per person.
The meal kicks off with a soup as an appetiser – choose either a pumpkin broth shored up with a tiger prawn or a mushroom soup, both reasonably creamy and freshly kitchen-made.
Then comes the salad, with possibilities that include the savoury-juicy ‘Chi Chi Chicken’ with mixed leaves or (our personal preference) a textured quinoa salad with avocado, corn and berries.
From the list of starters, our best bet is the foie gras, lusciously flavoursome. Alternatively, the kitchen also does a competent beef carpaccio.
The main course comprises mainly pastas in classic preparations like vongole, pesto, bolognese or carbonara.
Wrap up with sweet treats – both the carrot cake and the unique red velvet cheese brownie (dense and crumbly) are worth the calories. Wine is available at RM30 a glass or RM55 for two glasses.
Hotel guests can enjoy a 10 percent discount off the food set. Thanks to the Rococo team for having us here.
