Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
Another container cafe ships into the suburbs: Mosano Coffee, a distinctive new destination in Damansara Perdana.
Not necessarily the most comfortable hangout though – some of these benches & chairs weren’t really built for kicking back.
Mosano’s main attraction: Smørrebrød-style open sandwiches – no fewer than 15 varieties are available, each between RM6 & RM9, crowned with combos like shredded lamb confit with Japanese cucumber, sliced orange, tomato, rosemary & remoulade.
Other topping possibilities include smoked salmon with herbed cabbage, cherry tomatoes & chives, smoked duck with apple wedges, grilled calamari with avocado & alfalfa, crispy beef bacon with boiled potatoes, peach & egg with thyme, parmesan & cheddar cheese with sliced lemon, & chicken pastrami with onions.
Almost all of these come with a mayo-based sauce that works well only for some sandwiches. Instead of ordering everything initially, try one seafood option, one with meat & one vegetarian choice – if you like ’em, sample a few more. There are both hits & misses, but we appreciate how Mosano is making an interesting effort. We’d leave out the tomatoes & cucumber though.
We’re kinda on the fence too about Mosano’s coffee. The house blend is Guatemala-Brazil-Sulawesi; espressos cost RM6, piccolo lattes are RM8 & a hot caffe latte is RM10. Plus point: Service is encouragingly friendly.
