Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
Babiryani? Trust the folks of Fierce Curry House to come up with a new theme as playfully irresistible as this, propelling their brand of Indian fare to non-halal heights with siew yoke biryani and other unconventionally hog-loving riffs on cherished classics.
Meat The Porkers proudly professes to be the home of siew yoke biryani – true enough, this won’t be a recipe that’s easily found at eateries: Fierce’s flagship Hyderabadi Dum biryani, with tender slices of roast pork belly buried in the warm rice, showered with crispy crackling, served with raita and gravies (RM28++).
The result: A sensible balance of grains and meat that remains faithful to the enjoyable essence of biryani while conveying an effective twist to this familiar carb-loading experience.
This is the sort of witty, buzz-worthy menu that makes for appointment dining – tandoori pork ribs (RM48++), tikka butter pork (RM28++), pork pakora (RM20++) and bacon cheese naan (RM15++), all underscoring the fine understanding of clean, perceptively executed flavours that’s second nature to the experienced hands here.
Bonus points for the Malibu Mango Lassi, a rum-based cocktail that’s a satisfactory signature order (RM25++). Prices are far from cheap – our meal for two cost nearly RM200 – but the quality of the food is unimpeachable. Expect to hear more about Meat The Porkers in the months to come.
