Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
From kebaya to karipap: Malaysian crafts & cuisine come together at Kita Kita, a combination of a store & cafe where customers can shop for locally produced clothing, tableware & paintings while snacking on some beloved traditional tidbits.
Take a table by the window & take your time to savour the sunshine & serenity; the crowds haven’t chanced on Kita Kita so far, so it still is possible to have this entire Bukit Damansara cafe to yourself & pick the prettiest pastries & cakes from the counter.
Try the Tiffin Set (RM20) for a teatime treat – it carries three types of kuih-muih, with options from savoury kuih cara berlauk to sweet kuih seri muka, Terengganu-style fried fish crackers to citrus-infused sardine sandwiches on buttered bread, bingka ubi to mantao buns with chilli crab dip. Everything’s satisfyingly prepared, washed down with Nescafe, Horlicks or teh ‘o’ limau ais.
Complement the comfort food with retail therapy – for food lovers, there are intriguing speciality Malaysian cookbooks for sale.
