Meat-free East Asian comfort cooking in the calm confines of a grocery-cafe, where wholesome meals of traditional Chinese fare presented in classical Japanese forms can be savoured by customers while shopping for vegetarian produce galore, from dried spinach noodles to pumpkin seed crackers.

The wonderful soup

The ‘Wonderful Soup’ set meal (RM16.90) comprises a fresh-tasting, steaming-hot broth laden with lotus seeds, cordyceps, dates and goji berries, accompanied by brown rice and gingery vegetarian meatballs. We also like the multi-grain rice porridge (RM8.90), soulfully thick and textured with century eggs and salted eggs, complemented by braised peanuts and dried mushrooms.
