Proxy’s Kitchen

When we first visited Proxy’s Kitchen some time back, it was in Sri Hartamas’ Plaza Damas (now it’s in Shah Alam’s Section 7). As seen here, the Hartamas outlet spotlighted a decor infused with pop-culture flourishes & a menu with personality, leaping from Laksa Johor to a ‘Lambretta’ of lamb chops with garlicky mashed potatoes & peas, plus a memorable East-West concoction of ‘Masak Lemak’ Pasta with spicy smoked beef (daging salai) in turmeric cream sauce.

The Gravy Factory

The Gravy Factory was in Empire Damansara when we stopped by for a lunch of the house recommendation – Hainanese-style chicken chop – with an option of a ‘Groovy Gravy’ (we chose Pineapple Sweet N Sour over Black Pepper, Garlic Mushroom, Caesar, Tartare, Thousand Island & Mango Mayo). Since then, it’s shifted to the Nu Sentral shopping mall.

Uppercrust Diner

Uppercrust is relocating from the Dataran Prima venue where it has spent the past two years serving spicy prawn pastas topped with fried eggs & salmon sandwiches built with house-baked bread. For now, we have no clue where it will end up next.
