Desa Sri Hartamas’ latest pub debuts with tasty Southeast Asian temptations that we scarcely see in KL’s watering holes.

5. The Banker's Draught-min

From Malaysia, the Laksa Johor, blanketed with fish-and-prawn gravy and bolstered by can’t-fail sambal belacan, is comfort food with a local soulfulness (RM22), while from Indonesia, the croquette-like snack food of risoles boasts a satisfying freshness, its crisp breadcrumb exterior yielding to a hot, moist filling of chicken, potatoes and bechamel sauce, paired with kitchen-made green sambal ijo as a punchy dip (RM15).

While most customers head here for a pint, the bar’s friendly team obliges requests for cocktails – sip on a classic Old Fashioned or the house signature of The Auntie, a blend of rum, midori and pineapple juice.
