Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
We’re calling it right here: Crepe mania has officially hit KL. Le French Wrap in Publika is the city’s second new purveyor of Gallic-inspired pancakes this month, hot on the heels of Bangsar’s La Creperie de Caroline.
Fresh crepes hand-crafted to order, a softer, more sumptuous substitute for pita wraps.
All rolled up for convenient takeaway and easy eating. Savory and sweet renditions are both available, costing between RM6 and RM18; folks can either customize their own crepes or choose from a selection of about a dozen different recipes.
‘Romance en Provence,’ warmly and bountifully stuffed with grilled chicken, truffle cream, bechamel sauce, cherry tomatoes and romaine lettuce.
‘Le Roman’: steamed spinach, emmental cheese, sauteed mushrooms and fire-roasted capsicum.
‘Moulin Rouge’: Valrhona dark chocolate, fruits of the forest, whipped cream, chocolate chips and praline croquantine. Remarkably rich.
‘Le Secret Garden’: Apple compote, house-blended cream, oatmeal, cinnamon crumble and roasted almond flakes. Awesomely addictive.
Le French Wrap serves coffee and tea but no wine, so walk over to Ben’s Independent Grocer and smuggle over a couple of half-bottles.
Only three or four tables here. Le French Wrap is near the escalator outside BIG’s supermarket, but the kiosk is not immediately obvious; it pays to pay attention.
