Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
We’re fans of Malaccan Eurasian fare, so for us, Kumi is a welcome entry to Bukit Damansara – the restaurant’s three-man team of chef Rueben Moissinac, Amos and Aaron strive to do justice to classic traditions, specialising in time-honoured staples like devil’s curry, ambilla kacang and ikan pimente.
We might have preferred the claypot ayam pongteh (RM13 for a la carte, RM15.80 in a set with rice and pickled vegetables) to be more robustly flavoured, but it does taste honest and home-cooked.
On the other hand, the mutton ketumbar (RM13) is pretty satisfying, showcasing very tender meat in a potently flavourful spice mix with chillies and coriander, while the omelette cincaluk (RM10) is a tasty credit to this recipe. Service is friendly and welcoming.
