If you’re in the mood for some German cuisine, we’ve got you covered. Whether you’ve got a hankering for a feast of pork knuckle, a platter of Bratwurst sausages or some freshly baked German bread, these 5 cafes and restaurants will welcome your hungry appetite. Ein, zwei, drei, let’s go!
A chain restaurant originating in Singapore, Brotzeit opened its first restaurant in Malaysia in 2010. Now with three locations in Mid Valley, Bangsar Shopping Centre, and Sunway Pyramid’s Oasis Boulevard, their modern and contemporary settings are a suitable location for authentic modern German.
Brotzeit serves up the cuisine favourites including Pork Knuckle, sausage and schnitzel, which can be compliment by one of the many premium biers from the Paulaner brewery.

Located at the Pavilion, this bistro and bar offers a selection of German favourites and imported and bottles brews. The Weissbräu German Bistro & Bar draws a regular and diverse group of patrons, offering inside and alfresco dining, opening daily from 10am and serving into the early hours.
The kitchen serves up pork specialties, which can be complemented by one of the beers from their wide selection of bottled and draft beers poured into customised glasses for each choice.

Located amidst the buzzing bars and restaurants in Changkat Bukit Bintang, this cosy restaurant sets the scene for a cosy hangout. Serving up traditional German bottled brews such as Franziskaner, Erdinger, Warsteiner and German schnapps, it also offers some of the international favourites on tap, such as Kirin, Paulaner, Guinness, Tiger, Heineken and Strongbow Cider, as well as true German schnapps.
But Black Forest Kuala Lumpur offers more than just a setting for a German and international beer: Their kitchen also serves up authentic German cuisine. With pork dominating the menu, try everything from pork liver pate, pig head jelly, or Berliner Eisbein, which is pork that has been cured and boiled.

This casual setting plates up hearty cuisine, that infuses the culinary traditions of Germany and its neighbouring countries.
Specialising in pork delicacies, Bavarian Bierhaus is where you can fill your belly with a variety of German favourites, such as roasted pork knuckle, pork Bratwurst sausages, and barbecue pork ribs.
If you’re looking to try something a bit different the restaurant also serves up fried pork skins, a Bavarian dumpling soup with bacon and herbs, and marinated pork belly with sauerkraut.

The German bakery-café bakes their bread without premixes, preservatives or any other additives used commonly by other baking companies. Der Backmeister prides itself on quality, craftsmanship and passion to bake the freshest and healthiest breads and pastries, using natural ingredients and old-fashioned recipes.
Der Backmeister’s menu includes breakfast, sandwiches and German specialties. You can try the Strammer Max on their homemade rye bread or the Munich Style Brezel, baked fresh in their stone oven and then filled with tomato, cucumber and cream cheese.
