Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
This secluded coffee bar could be worth the jaunt to Sungai Buloh – true to his new cafe’s name, Korean coffee crackerjack Will Jung promises hand drip coffee and Dutch coffee, serving both in engaging ways to brighten up each patron’s experience.
Take a seat at the counter for a close-up view of how your coffee is made; the cafe roasts its own beans under the banner of Jung’s Three Bears (3B) brand, offering choices of blends that customers can select based on their personal priorities – Body, Aroma or Balance – created mainly with Guatemala’s Antigua and Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe beans.
The beverages are deep, complex and robust, paired with chic desserts crafted for this cafe by PJ’s Xiao By Crustz, including raspberry cream puffs (a nod to the Korean love for berries, adorably topped with a thin slice of chocolate in the shape of a bear’s face) & tarts made with the essence of 3B’s own Dutch coffee (brewed with cold water).
Upstairs, 3B will soon unveil spaces dedicated to Dutch coffee-making techniques, showcasing the process in glass rooms that bear impressively intricate equipment, including Gothicism and Akma steampunk machines by the Seoul-based Dutch Lab coffee design company.
