Advocates of avocados have much to relish at this trendy new vegetarian café: Top temptations include a hearty salad tossed with avocadoes & maple-glazed tempeh; as well as the ‘sushi bowl’ of brown rice blanketed with chunks of avocado, edamame, sauteed spinach, toasted seaweed & pomegranate seeds, dressed with sweet soy sauce; plus a seeds-&-nuts ‘toast’ topped with avocado slices, lemon tahini spread,poached egg &pomegranate molasses.

You can both eat AND drink avocado at Go-Getter Café: There’s a platter of fluffy-thick fried bread layered with lots of avocado & an egg, which can be perfectly washed down with pleasantly mellow avocado lassi.

Avocado features heavily in Hana’s sushi selection; our best bets are the mentaiko avocado hand rolls (a successfully playful partnership for creamy avocado and savoury marinated cod roe) and the luscious maki of salmon belly rolled with avocado, tempura prawn, cucumber & flying fish roe.

The Counter’s Tuna Tataki burger features ahi tuna with organic mixed greens, pickled carrots, daikon slaw, sliced radish, scallions, ponzu & sweet sriracha sauce, but it’s well worth adding RM4 for an avocado to crown the burger.

Swich’s avocado sponge cake is covered in avocado chantilly cream & topped with pistachios. Light & refreshingly subtle in flavor, but distinctively avocado all the same.
