Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
Wayne’s is rooted in family and friends: The couple who run this cafe named it after their toddler son, and they enlisted their chum – a retired chef who reputedly spent close to 50 years professionally cooking, including at what was once KL’s esteemed Merlin Hotel – to help out with recipes like roast pork with apple and brown sauce, roasted potatoes and vegetables (RM25) and pork chops and fried egg in a steamed rice bowl (RM17).
Wayne’s remains a fledgling business that’s still finding its footing, and there may be consistency issues with its food, but its team is willing to take note of feedback, which leaves us with some cause for optimism.
