Review: WIP on the Park
April 28th, 2025
GOOD lives up to its name: This coffee bar and concept store by Korean interior designer Sine J.H. Kim and his terrific team is a unique space that showcases admirable attention to detail – it’s easily our new favourite destination for caffeine in Jaya One.
This soothingly serene cafe banks on Cottle Coffee for single origins from across the globe – Costa Rica to Colombia, Ethiopia to Indonesia, Brazil and Mexico to Kenya, Honduras and Peru – to create Dutch coffees, hand-drips (including one tinged with maple syrup for a touch of sweetness) and espresso-based varieties (mostly RM12-RM14 each).
GOOD’s friendly baristas are completely capable of making reliable recommendations and explaining each offering; make your choice at the counter and take a plush toy (Pikachu, Spider-Man or SpongeBob?) to your table for order identification. Attractive cakes are also available.
The black beverages hit the spot – smooth and sensuous, complex and concentrated. Head here now to feed your IG stories, or wait till next month, when GOOD introduces espresso cones – coffee served in miniature chocolate-lined ice cream cones.
A chunk of GOOD is dedicated to a gallery of shoes, soap, earrings and other curated merchandise, much of which may be exclusive to GOOD as far as Malaysia is concerned. Browse at your leisure, or buy and bring home immediately. Bonus trivia: Pencil Planning refers to Kim’s consultancy company.
