Top of the morning to you all, it’s time to go green! Here are our picks for the best places to celebrate the luck of the Irish – St. Patrick’s Day – in KL and around.
According to The Irish Times and Diageo, this is the best Irish pub in the world (outside Ireland) – which is quite a feat. Naturally, there’s Guinness aplenty and a great, welcoming atmosphere. The ubiquitous company has branches in Changkat Bukit Bintang, Jalan P. Ramlee, Publika in KL, Penang and Ipoh and is offering St. Patrick’s Day discounts.

KL’s newest Irish addition, this Irish pub in the city’s new TREC entertainment facility is holding a St. Patrick’s Day Green Party with prizes for the greenest costume. There’s free flow beer between 6pm and 7pm on the 17th.

This chain is offering RM15 pints all night long on 17th and 19th March, with live music and comedy. On 17th-19th, the first 20 people to take Grab to Malone’s will get their first pint for RM5. Also, at Malone’s Jaya One, you can participate in Guinness’ ‘friendliest fridge’ promo.

One of the expat community’s most well-known online communities, InterNations will be having its St. Patrick’s Day party in the Changkat mainstay, Havana on the 17th. To attend, you’ll have to sign up for InterNations on their website, which gives you and other InterNations members complimentary snacks and two welcome drinks of your choice.

At all Sid’s outlets: TTDI, Bangsar South, Damansara Heights, El Sid’s in Medan Damansara, and Sid’s Handlebar in Bangsar, there will be free flow Guinness draught from 5.59pm (or 1759, the year Guinness was invented) until 7pm. Then, until 10pm, you can get 13oz Guinness bottles for RM10nett. Anyone dressed in green / black could win some Guinness goodies.
