Sora at Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang Jaya: Cafe review

Hojicha hounds, Sora might fit you to a ‘tea’ – this winsome little cafe is an unforeseen portrait of Zen in Subang’s key mall, offering the likes of smooth Uji matcha cold brews gently flavoured with peach (RM10) and frothy-roasty hojicha hot lattes (RM12).

Ceremony-style tea

If you have time to linger, traditional ceremony-style tea is also available, crafted with ‘chasen’ bamboo whisks and served with preserved apricots for balance (RM16). Pair perhaps with a slice of green-tea-and-sesame cake (RM15).

The Japanese influence extends to the coffee, with beans from KL-based Japanese roaster Kato-san. Look for Sora’s neon bird.
