Australia's Most-Awarded Whisky Comes to Malaysia
September 19th, 2024
Another Penang-inspired stop opened recently, vowing to also dish out authentic street eats.
Penang Koay Teow Kitchen’s assam laksa clocks in at RM4.50 & is a fair purchase for the price, thanks to its thick fish base.
Our other orders missed the mark however; the duck koay teow soup left scant impression (though for just RM7.50, it wasn’t a rip-off), while the duck egg fried koay teow (RM8.50) was a wan shadow of the best renditions. We’d probably pass on the D24 Durian Popiah too – reheated to order & artificial-tasting at best – & search somewhere for the real fruit.
