The Mockingbird at DC Mall, Damansara City: Snapshot

‘Nasi campur’ with globetrotting twists – choose a base (ten-grain rice, couscous, or quinoa with pearl barley), then pick your protein and fibre (our favourite is the Korean-spiced minced beef with egg, pickled carrots and cucumbers; other options include Moroccan-style lamb tagine with chickpeas, romaine and pomegranates, or Cajun-inspired lime chicken with bell peppers and black beans) for well-balanced servings of soul food with subtle shades of flavour that meet the mark for wholesome nourishment (RM22-RM25), offered in a setting that swings for nonchalant, chilled-out vibes. Trivia: The Mockingbird’s name is a nod to Harper Lee’s classic novel of courthouse justice, linking up with outlet founder Elaine Zarina Lamb’s legal background.

I like the dedication to the concept. Tropical concept is the next big thing in interior design.
