Malaysian Restaurants Featured in Global Food Tourism Rankings

If the name Mashad Pino rings a bell, this may be the reason: Mashad was the chef in charge when Hit & Mrs opened in 2012 & subsequently Feeka the following year. After slaving for two of KL’s toughest F&B monoliths, the Malaysian-Italian has now broken free on his own, opening a new Italian restaurant this month in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
Livello Uno is all about comfort food, visually alluring, from starters of Sicilian-inspired mushrooms with polenta in cream sauce (RM16), clams sauteed with garlic & chilli (RM16) & roma tomatoes with red onions & oregano (RM14) …
… to mains like potato gnocchi with braised beef, mozzarella & black olives in thick, textured tomato sauce (RM30), chicken lasagne (RM24) & spaghetti pomodoro, polpettine, vongole, or gamberi (RM22-RM30; gluten-free pasta is also available) …
… to desserts such as panna cotta infused with Tahitian vanilla pods, topped with honeycomb & strawberry sauce (RM18), washed down with Italian-inspired sodas flavoured with the likes of elderflower & raspberry (RM14). Generally good food.
