It Cake at Damansara Perdana: Review

It Cake takes a refreshingly minimalist approach – this new cake shop, helmed by friendly Korean couple Tae Kim & Jennifer, promises a small but carefully curated selection of wholesome cakes, baked with heart & skill, served with lots of love & cheer.

Swiss Roll

For customers who love milky flavours & extra-creamy textures, It Cake’s Swiss roll is set to satisfy, imbued with delicate nuances of Elle & Vire French whipping cream & pure honey to please patrons who prefer their desserts less sweet. A slice costs RM9, coupled with complimentary hot tea, while a whole cake that five or six people can share clocks in at RM30.

Valrhona Dark Chocolate Layered with German Raspberry Jam

For deeper & punchier flavours, try this confection of Valrhona dark chocolate layered with German raspberry jam, beautifully balanced in bittersweet-cocoa & tangy-fruit dimensions (RM18 a slice, RM150 for a full cake). Jennifer studied her craft at Le Cordon Bleu’s Seoul campus, & she has painstakingly fine-tuned these preparations; It Cake is confident enough in the quality of its cakes that customers can walk in & sample small slices of the cakes for free before choosing whether to purchase them.

A+ Nanas

We’re also admirers of the ‘A+ Nanas,’ which combines the dairy richness of Philadelphia cream cheese with the nectarous juiciness of local pineapples on a crunchy biscuit base (RM15 per slice, RM130 per cake). Complement the cake with well-prepared Ethiopian drip coffee, all presented with fun tableware. As a bonus, It Cake is offering free gift towels for each cake purchase (while stocks last). All in all, this is a nice place for relaxing over cakes & beverages, a sanctuary of serenity for now.
