Ho Li Chow at Damansara Kim: Restaurant review

Kitchen commandant Aunty Sue, whose family hails from Penang, keeps a steady watch over Ho Li Chow’s Malaysian comfort-fare offerings; the selection is compact, but everything’s worth sampling, from the rich, hearty lam mee (RM10) to the assam laksa, enjoyably tasty though more mellow than Air Itam’s (RM7), to the firm, fairly fragrant nasi lemak (RM10 with tender pork curry and chicken).

On Saturdays, household-recipe specials such as painstakingly prepared acar fish are available; Ho Li Chow is becoming a popular neighbourhood kopitiam, and its menu is expected to expand over time (siu yuk and duck rice?).
