Castania Nut Boutique at 1 Mont Kiara: Review

This Lebanese purveyor of nuts has unveiled numerous Malaysian branches across the Klang Valley’s malls in recent months, from 1 Mont Kiara to 1 Utama, Pavilion to Sunway Pyramid, Nu Sentral to IOI City Mall. Take your pick from pistachios, pecans, peanuts, hazelnuts, chickpeas, cashews, macadamias & more, with some in flavours like cheese, curry & sesame.

The nuts are sold by weight, ranging from RM4.50 per 100 grammes of peeled peanuts to RM27 per 100 grammes of BBQ pecans; mixing & matching is possible, so there’s no need to purchase a full 100 grammes of any single variety. The nuts are crunchy & taste fairly fresh – some of them can be predictably addictive (cashews!), though for the most part, they’re best for folks with a relatively high tolerance for sodium. Wash down perhaps with LifeJuice’s hazelnut-infused cold brew Earl Grey tea.
