Bacon & Brews at Damansara Uptown: Restaurant review

Bacon & Brews does a deft job at creating food that looks very good (assured to attract the social media crowd), casting the limelight on pork in enterprising ways.

Bacon everywhere

The Fat Rice (RM18.90) features Japanese grains infused with pork lard sauce and topped with onsen tamago, partnered with a sous-vide chicken roulade, crispy-fried shallots and bacon bits, while the Teriyaki Ribs (RM28.90) takes on eight-hour-cooked baby back pork ribs, glazed and torched with an apple-tinged sauce, accompanied by a garlic mash, caramelised pineapples and bacon bits.

Even in the cheesecake!

Even the cheesecake is more boar than bore, laced with bacon bits (them again!) for extra texture. Wash down with a sweetish Uji Matcha Latte (RM9.90), made with Kyoto-origin tea powder.
