Yes, we know – preparing a clean and balanced meal is easier said than done. The attempt to do so is noble, but to many, the novelty wears off, especially during the weekdays, due to the hectic and fast-paced lifestyle in the city.

The lone days of fast food delivery have been eclipsed by a new contender – healthy, wholesome food deliveries right to your doorstep for lunch and dinner.

Something to note is that most clean eating sites require you to pre-order your meals the day before to guarantee the freshness of the food. So, simply visit any of the sites the day before, peruse through the mouthwatering menu, take your pick and pay either beforehand or when it arrives.

1. Dah Makan

We browsed through the menu and before long, we were drooling. You’d be spoilt for choices with the extensive menu as Dah Makan creates healthy gourmet meals that are crafted with the freshest ingredients. Helming the kitchen is Executive Chef Shamsul Hashim, whose previous affiliations include the prestigious Sheraton Imperial and Hilton. Another plus point, the dishes are yummy and MSG-free.

The prices listed on the site are all-inclusive – delivery is free, there are no further service or admin costs with GST charges factored in.

2. Chopstick Diner

Delivering their food in take-out boxes and chopsticks (hence the name), their salad-focused menu starts from as low as RM15. If you’re not a big fan of salads, take them up on their half-and-half option where you get to choose a smaller salad portion and a choice of Vietnamese Spring Rolls or Pad Thai Zoodles – Zoodles are zucchinis that have passed through a spiralizer and made to resemble noodles, minus the carbs. To end your meal on a sweet note, select a bottle of fresh juice just before checking out.

3. Yumcious

This eatery-cum-delivery service was founded on one simple idea: Great food shouldn’t be that hard to come by. They’ve taken this idea, created a community around it and their menu selection appeals to those with a more localised tastebud. Dishes like ‘Vegan Nasi Lemak with Mixed Quinoa’ and ‘Vegan Pumpkin Cashew Laksa’ are proof that you do not have to give up your favourite food in the name of health.

Yumcious only serves lunch for the time being and delivers to KL, major parts of Klang Valley and PJ. There’s a minimum order of RM15 and for orders under RM100, there will be 15% service fee imposed.

A newbie in the food delivery business, the team is anything but inexperienced. They started out as a home-based business and now receive orders for more than 100 boxes a day. There are two types of meals to choose from – Daily lunch delivery and frozen skinny meals to stock your freezer with. If you are on a clean eating day diet, do opt for their overnight oats for breakfast and supplement your lunch plan with a jar of invigorating infused water.

Inspired by the Australian health values, Epic Fit Meals Co. probably offers the biggest selection of healthy cuisine in this list we’ve compiled. Their food choices range from Western, Asian and even Mediterranean.
