There’s no missing recognising the Tiger Beer logo in coffee shops. Almost every hawker stall had the blue and orange logo beside the main dish, and some establishments even had it proudly displayed on the main billboard and wooden blinds hanging down to keep the sun out.

At night, the signs would light up, and the convivial sounds of old men catching up on their days would fill the atmosphere. These chatters would be particularly loud during special events such as badminton tournaments, Hungry Ghost theatre nights, and of course, football seasons!

Community and food have always gone hand in hand across Malaysia, but recent times have dampened this spirit of togetherness a little.

Our sneak peek of the Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival brought us back to the fun times, celebrating the potential future of mass immersion and engagement. All of us who are deeply missing the experience of hanging out in crowds over food and drinks are in for a whole new experience!

As the first of its kind to take place anywhere in the world, Tiger Beer is looking to take the street food festival atmosphere from street to screen. Partnered with DeliverEat, KLFoodie, and featuring social media personalities Harvinth Skin and Lizz Chloe (DumplingSoda), Tiger takes a step onto the virtual streets where Malaysia’s favourite food outlets are waiting!

Virtual festivals are not unheard of, but the time to bring this concept to the masses beyond the gaming crowd has never been riper! Not just a livestream conference, not a slew of videos and coupons, but a real celebration involving interactive elements, and the number one Malaysian love – food!

Walk the 3D streets in your very own customised avatar and ‘Uncover the Extraordinary’! Neon lights, ambient chatter, fun-filled festival exclusives… everything you know and love about food festivals is now able to be virtually enjoyed right in your own living room.

A selected range of areas across Kuala Lumpur, the Klang Valley, and Penang will be in the 15-km range of deliveries for 88 participating vendors on rotation throughout the festival, connecting you in real time with limited-edition dishes, both brand-new and crossover collaborations, in addition to menu favourites.
