Bangsar’s latest restaurant on Lorong Kurau is all fired up with smoked specialities, served in a pleasant two-level setting, staffed by a welcoming team.


Mains

Our favourite orders here are the hot, hearty and meaty bowls of risotto with smoked duck and slow-cooked egg (RM42.90) and smoked beef short ribs braised in their own jus with gnocchi and veggies (RM96.90). Rubs’ recipes prove competently prepared, from the barramundi with smoked calamari, young corn and sweet corn puree in seafood broth (RM68.90) to the roast chicken with fries (RM48.90), with the caveat that the smoky flavours turn out to be a tad tamer than expected.

Dessert and drinks

A frozen cheesecake with lemon curd ice cream might be the highlight of the dessert selection (RM26.90), while the bar’s signatures include a smoked Negroni (RM33.90) and Martini (RM36.90).
