Reimagined Afternoon Tea Launched At The St. Regis: High Tea Review

The Drawing Room at the St. Regis Kuala Lumpur recently launched its newly reimagined Classic Afternoon Tea, a lovely high tea experience created by their new Chef de Patisserie, Hassan Mohammed. Chef Hassan is native French and brings to the role over 20 years of fine pastry knowledge and experience. He specialises in plating beautifully tempting desserts using a range of methods and techniques gleaned from his extensive experience.

It’s fitting that the St. Regis would revamp their Afternoon Tea with the new appointment of Chef Hassan, and what a tea it is! Guests can relax in the elegant Drawing Room under its bespoke five-tier crystal chandelier and in the midst of the signature horse sculpture that always attracts comments (and perhaps a few selfies), a bold artistic statement by noted Colombian artist Fernando Botero, who was specially commissioned by the hotel to create this unmissable sculpture.

Treats both sweet and savoury feature on the Classic Afternoon Tea, something made even more special by being refillable. If there’s a particular treat you enjoy – perhaps the Caramelized Pecan Short Crust, for example, or the Mixed Berries Trifle – feel free to ask for more! The tea set comes with unlimited tea and canapés. What’s more, the spread utilise no animal fats, and only organic fruits and vegetables are used in the creation of these lovely treats.

The Classic Afternoon Tea at The Drawing Room is priced at RM140 nett per person. Guests may also add a glass of premium Veuve Clicquot Champagne, if desired, with the upgraded set priced at RM220 nett per person.

The tea service is available weekdays from 3pm to 6pm, and on weekends from 2pm to 6.30pm.
