Banh beo (RM6.50; steamed rice cakes sprinkled with prawn paste, turnips and spring onions), bot chien trung (RM5.50; fried rice flour cakes with egg), ga kho xa ot (RM14.50; lemongrass-braised chicken with sticky rice), cha gio tom (RM8.50; fried spring rolls with prawns), and che dau trang khoai mon (RM4.50; black-eyed peas with yam and coconut milk), washed down with tamarind (RM4) and corn milk (RM5.50) beverages.

When we visited a couple of months back, some of the preparations could have been fine-tuned for a more effective balance of flavours and textures, but we like the restaurant’s focus on the rustic roots of its cuisine.
