Menara KL Tower Restaurant Takes Diners to New Heights
In Malaysia there are so many restaurants clamouring for attention that all too many fall into the trap of mimicking other, more successful brands and concepts and never offering diners something unique. How often do you find yourself in a new dining venue and get a curious sense of déjà vu? More often than not, your ‘new’ venue is exactly the same as any other noodle house, or any other Italian joint.
But one place that can never be victim of an impersonation is Atmosphere 360: surely the most unique restaurant in KL with one the most fabulous views to enjoy while you eat.
Perhaps better known as the KL Tower restaurant, Atmosphere 360 sits 282 metres above ground level in one of the capital’s most iconic structures and tourist attractions, and offers a very special dining experience for those seeking something new or looking for a way to mark an important moment.
Not only is the view from the restaurant spectacular night or day, the restaurant also revolves, allowing diners a complete panorama of the city. Almost every table in the restaurant is clustered along the window, so it is likely that more time will be spent looking at the view than down at your plate!
KL Tower Restaurant Menu
That said, it is worth paying attention to the food because the restaurant prides itself on delivering interesting and flavoursome dishes, both at the buffet and on the a la carte menu. Lunch and dinner buffets feature everything from Malay specialities to sushi, while the a la carte menu offers carefully prepared and executed choices such as Stir-Fried Boston Lobster that comes out with a dash of butter sauce, a neat heap of mashed pumpkin and a sesame venison rib, while the Marinated Black Cod with miso paste is unusual but appealing.
For something lighter, guests can also choose to take afternoon tea while the city revolves around them, nibbling on tasty scones, pastries and sandwiches and selecting from an inspiring array of coffees and teas to rival the best tea houses in China! Sip a cup if Spearmint Oolong or White Tea Blossom as Granny eats cake and your son stares wide-eyed at the vista moving slowly outside the window.
KL Tower Restaurant Drinks
The drinks list is also something of a sight to behold, with a huge array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. Fresh juices and funky mocktails will keep the kids happy (the Star Moon with starfruit juice, mint and honey is a winner) while adults will struggle to pick between the wines, beers, liquors and long list of cocktails. Wine cocktails, champagne cocktails, traditional cocktails and even quirky home-made cocktails such as the Miranda Tinta with gin, lychee, pineapple juice and curacao will tempt girly drinkers and ensure that you make quite a night of it, while Irish coffees are also available for an indulgent treat.
In terms of pricing, you can expect to pay a little more for a buffet at Atmosphere 360 – it does have the best view in the city after all – but prices are still fairly reasonable, with a lunch buffet costing from RM88 per adult.
The KL Tower restaurant is open every day of the week and the buffet lunch and dinner are held in two sessions. Lunch can either be taken from 11.30am-1pm, or from 1pm-3.30pm, while dinner can be eaten from 6.30pm-8.30pm or from 8.30m-11pm. Afternoon tea is available from 3.30pm-5.30pm.
If you choose to stop by for a meal, make sure you take a look around the KL Tower itself, where there are all sorts of displays and activities, such as an F1 simulator and the chance for the kids to have pony rides around the park at the base of the structure. The KL Tower fee for visiting the observation deck is from RM45 for adults and RM30 for kids, and there is even a free shuttle service that will transport you from the car park to the base of the tower.
If you are seeking a different type of dining experience, looking for a way to wow your loved ones or just want to show your guests a great night out, Atmosphere 360, aka Menara KL Tower restaurant, offers something unique and could be a great option to encourage you to break from the norm and make dinner a little more memorable for once!
