This post is brought to you by the Lobby Bar.

You may wonder why you’d ever relax at a hotel bar, and I’d be lying if I said that thought didn’t cross my mind. But an afternoon at the Lobby Bar changed all that. Hidden in a quiet corner of the Gardens Hotel, sits this unassuming lounge, a lovely little haven from the hustle and bustle of the nearby Mid-Valley Megamall and the Gardens Mall.

High Tea Set

Quite unsurprisingly, the Lobby Bar is located just inside the lobby, and it features a modern, sophisticated design with a relaxing atmosphere. Like most other hotel bars, this Lobby Bar serves up a sumptuous selection of coffee, tea, fresh juices, cocktails, mocktails, wines and snacks. The main point of difference at this particular bar is that they offer a delicious High Tea set, which is friendly on the wallet, without compromising on taste.

The Tea for Two promo comprises a lovely afternoon tea set, along with two cups of creamy teh tarik, or kopi tarik, all for just RM40++ for two people. Even though it was just hitting lunchtime, we happily gobbled up the finger sandwiches, cheesecake slices with chocolate trimmings, chocolate cookies, kuih, and other delicious nibbles.

Classic Club Sandwich and Satay

Once we had our fill of sugary goodness, we sampled some popular bar snacks. The fabled Sugarcane Prawns weren’t available much to our dismay, so we made do with a delectable Classic Club sandwich, packed with smoked beef and turkey, romaine lettuce, cheddar cheese, salad and crispy French fries. You normally wouldn’t think a swish hotel would be able to serve up some yummy satay but the Lobby Bar surprised us all with their juicy beef and chicken versions of this Malaysian classic, marinated with turmeric, ginger, chilli, ginger, and lemongrass, and complete with cucumbers and peanut sauce.

Chicken Wings

My personal favourite were the chicken wings –marinated in a blend of various spices and fried to perfection, these were easily the best wings I’ve had in a long while! Besides these standouts, the Lobby Bar also offers the usual finger food options (wedges, crispy deep-fried calamari, crumbed fish fingers, etc.) that you almost certainly can’t go wrong with.
