This is KGB’s third outpost in two years, a testament to the drive & determination of its creators, who’ve so far made KGB the go-to spot for burgers in Bangsar & Mid Valley & seem set to do likewise in TTDI.

Familiar Favourites and Fresh Surprises

KGB loyalists can find both familiar favourites & fresh surprises in Taman Tun, with more than 20 burgers on the menu. Whether you like your burgers with their beef patties crust-seared or grilled, combined with toppings that taste a little sweet or a bit spicy, cheesy or earthy, there’s something for you. Our current choice is the truffle-infused one, beautifully balanced with Swiss cheese, sauteed portobello mushrooms & herbed ranch dressing. Beef burgers cost between RM13.90 & RM22.90, built with Aussie steak-grade, grass-fed, halal beef. Enjoy with buttermilk-fried onion rings & a tangy-savoury sauce (RM7.90).

Expanding its Repertoire to Embrace Seafood

KGB is expanding its repertoire to embrace seafood too – in the weeks to come, expect to see possibilities like beef burgers crowned with grilled prawns (a riff on surf-&-turf platters) or even juicy salmon fillet burgers. Steven & Jo are still painstakingly fine-tuning these recipes, but the work-in-progress efforts that we sampled showed an abundance of richly flavourful potential.

KGB’s chicken burger stockpile has increased immensely too, with six grilled patty varieties (try the one with pineapple, smoked chicken ham & a spiked spicy sauce for RM16.90) & three crispy-fried, parmesan-crusted ones (the version with caramelised kimchi, a sunny-side-up egg & kimchi mayo might not be for everyone, but it’ll reward the adventurous; RM15.90).

Chicken Wings

But here’s the biggest addition to KGB’s selection: Chicken wings – in true KGB fashion, these come in multiple styles as well. Our pick’s the salted egg yolk wings – smooth, creamy & robust. There’s also a well-executed interpretation of U.S. buffalo wings, as well as Asian-inspired wings with Thai & Korean influences (bring out the fish sauce & kaffir lime!). RM13.90 for sets of six crispy-tender, meaty wings per basket. These are now available at KGB TTDI & will be rolled out at other branches soon.

Waffles

Also exclusive to KGB TTDI for now: Waffles, fluffy & yeasty with the Liege imprint, served plain with butter & maple syrup (RM9.90) or in a unique red velvet rendition with cream cheese (RM12.90). Have one (or both!) with a strawberry milkshake (RM12) & ginger ale float (RM7); KGB promises a few more desserts are imminent, including parfaits. As always, an enjoyable meal at KGB – many thanks to Steven & Jo for hosting this preview with warmth, candour & their ever-generous hospitality.
