The MCO’s third phase is expected to come to an end on the 28th of April 2020, but one of Malaysia’s biggest religious festivals, Ramadan, commences on the 23rd of April the week before.

For those participating in this period of abstinence and fasting that will go on for a whole month until the 23rd of May 2020, the COVID-19 precautions and measures are bound to pose some problems as the usual breaking fast rituals are disrupted.
