Healthy Indulgence at Marché Mövenpick, Pavilion KL

In August this year, Marché Mövenpick marketplace which focuses on European cuisine returned to Malaysia with a spacious new restaurant in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur. For those unfamiliar with the brand, Marché is a global company with Swiss roots, developing innovating and fresh culinary creations with restaurants in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Canada, to name a few.

The 8,800 sq ft of space is located on the first floor of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, along the prominent food walkway of one of the city’s most prominent shopping mall. High quality and freshness is extremely important to the brand, so you can expect premium food at an affordable price.

On our recent visit, we were impressed with the colourful décor and vibrant setting of the place. Live cooking from the open show kitchens added to the energetic atmosphere. The staff were also very helpful and patient when we asked questions about the various dishes.

We first tried the signature Swiss Rösti, a must-try dish at Marché. Shredded potatoes are freshly grilled in a pan, served alongside sour cream. The result is a crispy crust with buttery potato inside, pairing perfectly with the sour cream. Simply delicious at any time of the day! The rösti station also features delicious meats from the grill, such as the Lamb Sausage, which we also loved.

We also tried another one of their specialties, the savoury crepe with barbecue chicken. Similar to a wrap, there are a variety of ingredients catered to your taste, including vegetarian options, wrapped up and toasted. It was full of fresh and delicious ingredients, encased in a soft and warm crepe. One serving is quite filling!

Although we were getting full, we couldn’t resist trying one of their pizzas. We had the seafood pizza which had succulent fresh prawns and tomato slices on top. One bite and we were hooked! The quality of the cheese was apparent in every bite, perfect with the light and buttery crust that was not too doughy.

In addition to these Marché classics, there are also artisanal focaccia sandwiches, fresh seafood, roast meats, a variety of pasta, and desserts. As for the drinks, there is a wide selection of freshly squeezed juices, coffee and teas, exquisite wines, and refreshing beers.

Marché also offers great lunch and dinner specials which change up every day! Ranging from RM11.90 to RM16.90, specials include items such as Roasted Duck Leg with cabbage and potato, Pasta Gratin with salmon, Chicken Schnitzel with Swiss Rösti, and much more.
