Probably too cutesy to be considered a hipster hot spot, but even the coolest cat might be charmed by the chirpiness of this child-friendly cafe. Foodsbury is a pleasant shop-house eatery on the edge of a Shah Alam residential estate. Possibly worth the drive from KL; the food selection features sufficient temptations and the setting is conducive for at least an hour of chilling out.Foodsbury_2

Pasta

Lamb carbonara (RM12), the top pasta pick. The spaghetti’s well-executed, firm to the bite and flavorsome; the meat might look meager, but this is ultimately every ounce a hot, hearty meal, more than reasonable for the price.Foodsbury_3

Cakes

Salted caramel mille-crepe topped with almonds (RM12), certifiably crowd-pleasing.Foodsbury_4

Hot blueberry cinnamon cake (RM8), less memorable, but that’s OK; still lots of other stuff on the menu, including key lime pies and nutella pancakes. Foodsbury_5

A Twist on Coffee-Based Beverages

Foodsbury puts a twist on its coffee-based beverages; this cappucino with goji berry extract and vanilla makes for a sweet choice in every sense.

The cafe loves coconut, so even the latte might come spiked with the flavor of that fruit …Foodsbury_7

… as well as a simple iced milk that consequently tastes like a Caribbean concoction.Foodsbury_8

Sampling of what else customers can expect here: Eggy English brekkies, salmon sandwiches, roast chicken and beef lasagna. Sounds like good eating.Foodsbury_9Foodsbury_10
