EatDrink is Looking to Hire a Business Development Manager

TEG is a media company focused on providing information about Malaysia. It does this through print magazines, online media, and events. One of our media websites is EatDrink.

EatDrink is focused on publishing independent restaurant reviews and feature articles about places to eat and drink in KL & Selangor. We’re looking for a sociable, outgoing, smart person to help sell highly effective online marketing products.

This is a great opportunity to get involved at the very early stages of a growing media site. The position is based in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will be the first Business Development Manager for EatDrink!

Experience, Skills, and Attributes

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient in English and local Malaysian language(s) (preferably Chinese)
• Strong interpersonal skills, always ready to cold call and meet with restaurateurs and restaurant marketers
• Sociable, outgoing and persuasive
• Organized: the candidate needs to reach out and manage lots of contacts, follow-ups and renewals
• Great attitude and great team player; someone who will work hard to go the extra mile
• Eligible to work in Malaysia
• From fresh university graduate to 5 years work experience

Duties

The primary duty for this position will be selling our online ad products for EatDrink. More specifically, this entails the following:

• Constantly contacting and networking with restaurants in the Greater KL area to introduce and pitch our effective online marketing products, including Memberships and Sponsored Content
• Prepare contracts and proposals
• Manage client relationships, giving feedback on their marketing results
• Share feedback from clients for us to review and improve online marketing products

EatDrink was launched in 2014. The business is small but continues to grow. We’re looking for a candidate to help catalyse the commercial growth significantly.
